1 Chicken – cut up
1 c flour
1 tsp. salt
¼ tsp. to ½ t pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 t onion powder
½ tsp. paprika
Butter Flavored Shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Rinse chicken and pat dry. Combine dry ningredients in a paper or plastic bag. Heat butter flavored shortening in an electric fry pan (heat to 375º to 400º) to a depth of about ½ inch. Shake one or two chicken pieces at a time in the flour mixture and add skin side down to the hot shortening. Cook until the chicken is golden brown (about 15 minutes) and turn. Turn heat down to 300º to 325º, cover pan and cook for another 15 minutes. Remove cover and turn heat back up to 375º to 400º and fry chicken until golden brown and crispy on both sides. Drain on paper towels. Takes about 45 minutes.
