1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
3 cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup cold coffee
4 cups chopped apples
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup nuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Sift together the flour and soda; add cinnamon. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternately with the cold coffee. Stir in chopped apples. Pour into greased 9 by l3 pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar and chopped nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour or until cake tests done.
