1 cup nuts (almonds or walnuts are good)
4 cups quick cooking oats
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup honey

Optional:
1/3 cup powdered milk for each patrol member.

At home:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Coarsely chop nuts (if not chopped already).
Mix nuts, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add to a 9"x13" baking dish.

Melt butter in microwave safe bowl. Microwave in 15 second increments until melted. Stir in honey.
Pour butter mixture over oat mixture. Stir until evenly coated.

Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Stir every 10 minutes.

Cool completely. Divide equally into zip top bags.

On the trail:
Provide one bag to each patrol member for breakfast or snack.

Serves 8.

Optional:
If desired, also provide each patrol member with 1/3 cup powdered milk and 1 cup cold water to make milk so granola can be eaten as a cereal from a bowl.
