2 cups dry beans
2 quarts water
Ham or ham hocks
1 large onion, chopped
1 large can tomatoes
1 large hot pepper or 1 tsp chili powder
1 clove garlic, chopped
Juice of 1 lemon
Salt and pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Wash beans and cover with water over night. Drain. Add 2 quarts water and simmer 2 1/2 - 3 hours. Add ham.
Add remaining ingredients and simmer 30-40 minutes.
