1 cup dates
1 cup boiling water
1 tsp soda
3/4 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cups sifted flour
1 cup chocolate chips
nuts, optional
Directions:
Directions:
Chop dates. Pour water over dates and add soda. Cool.
Cream butter, sugar and eggs.
Add date mixture, flour, and chocolate chips.
Mix well. Pour into 9x13 cake pan and sprinkle 1/2 cup chocolate chips and nuts on top.
Bake at 350º for 25-30 minutes.
