1 loaf round or rectangular sourdough bread
1 lb. Monterey Jack cheese, sliced or grated
1/2 c. butter or margarine, melted
1/2 c. chopped green onions
1 to 3 tsp. poppy seeds

Directions:
Directions:
Cut the bread lengthwise and crosswise, making strips but not cutting all the way through. Gently stuff cheese between strips, separating gently. Combine butter, green onions, and poppy seeds; drizzle over the bread. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Uncover; bake 10 minutes longer or until the cheese is melted.
