1 lb. ground beef 1 cup chopped onion 1 cup diced potatoes 1 cup diced carrots 1 cup diced celery 1 cup chopped cabbage 4 cups canned tomatoes 1/4 cup rice 3 cups water 4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 bay leaf 1/4 tsp. each basil and thyme
Brown ground beef and drain off fat. Add rest of ingredients, cook slowly for 2 hours. Makes 10 servings.
