½ cup shortening
½ cup butter
1 ½ cups sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 ½ cups flour
1 ½ tsp. baking powder
1 ¼ tsp. salt

Glaze:
3 1/3 c. powdered sugar
4-6 T. water (more towards 6)
1 1/2 tsp. corn syrup
¼ tsp. almond extract

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, butter, and sugar with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add in eggs and vanilla and mix until well blended. In a separate bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to shortening mixture, mixing until well blended. Dough is a light dough. If dough is extremely sticky, add a slight about of flour until dough is rollable.

Roll out dough on floured pastry cloth. May have to add flour. Cut out and bake at 350 degrees until dough begins to lightly brown on edges only.

Glaze:
Mix ingredients. Add food coloring of choice. It should be thin. It goes on liquidly and sets up rapidly.
