Caramel Brownies Recipe

¾ cup margarine or butter
5 oz. can evaporated milk
bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
box of chocolate cake mix (no pudding in the mix)
12-14 ozs. bag of Kraft caramels
can of peanuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
1) Measure ¼ cup evaporated milk and reserve.
2) Melt butter in microwave till liquidy. Combine remaining evaporated milk with melted butter and cake mix. Stir until fully incorporated.
3) Grease or spray with PAM a 13 x 9 inch cake pan. Pour ¾ of the batter into pan and bake at 350 degrees for 9-10 minutes.
4) Unwrap caramels in glass bowl and then add the reserved ¼ cup evaporated milk. Microwave on high for 3 minutes (until caramels are fully melted). Stir.
5) Take pan from oven and sprinkle even layer of chips and then nuts if desired. Pour caramel over top (cover nuts completely). Take the remaining batter and sprinkle on top.
6) Put brownies back in oven for 20 minutes. Put in fridge to cool. Do not cut for 2 hours.
7) Cut brownies into small squares. Keep in freezer as they get messy when warm. Enjoy!
