1c softened butter
3/4c sifted powdered sugar
1/2tsp salt
1tsp vanilla
1 egg
2c sifted flour
Parchment Paper
small bag of chocolate chips
1tbsp oil

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar, salt, and vanilla together. Add flour, cover and refridgerate for about 20-30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350º. Roll dough into balls and press the tops with a fork. Cook on a sheet lined with parchment paper for 10-12 minutes or until cookies show a light brown on bottom. Let cookies cool and then melt chocolate down in a hot pot with hot oil. Dip cookies in melted chocolate about half the cookie. Let chocolate set on parchment paper.

Takes a couple hours for chocolate to fully set. I usually heat the oil in a small pot and then remove it from heat before adding chocolate chips so the chocolate doesn't burn. These taste similar to Milano cookies... the recipe originated with Joan Overson.
