1 QT. apple cider or apple juice
3 TBSP honey
2 TBSP lemon juice
4 whole cloves
1 whole nutmeg
1 2—inch piece stick cinnamon
1/4 to 1/3 cup brandy

6 cinnamon stick stirrers (optional)
6 lemon slices, halved (optional)

*In a medium saucepan combine apple cider or apple juice, honey, and lemon juice.
*For spice bag, place the cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon in a double thickness cheesecloth. Bring up the corners of the cheesecloth and tie cheesecloth with a string. Add spice to cider mixture.
*Cover and heat through but do not boil. Remove spice bag and discard. Stir in brandy.
*Serve the warm cider in mugs with cinnamon stick stirrers and lemon slices.
Makes six 6—oz. servings.
