4 tart apples
1/4 lb butter
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup hot water
Nutmeg

Pie shell

Directions:
Directions:
Peel apples and slice thin into an unbaked pie shell. Cut butter into small pieces over apples. Over this sprinkle the sugar and then the hot water. Put a little nutmeg on top.

Bake at 450º for 15 minutes then reduce heat to 350º for 45 minutes.

Serve hot with hard butter sauce or cold with cheese.
