1 C flour
1 C warm water
1/4 tsp yeast (more in cool weather)
yellow food coloring
3 C sugar
2 C water

Crisco shortening for frying.

Syrup:
Boil 3 C sugar and 2 C water until thick.
Add yellow food coloring if desired.

Jalibis:
Mix first three ingredients, cover & let stand 3-4 hour.
Stir to uniform consistency.
Add yellow food coloring and drizzle into hot, melted crisco (medium-high). Use mustard container to squirt batter.
Fry until crispy.

Dip fried jalibis in syrup immediately, place on wax paper.

I have never actually made this, but it is very good - if you like sweet and crispy/gooey!
