1 C flour
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 C sugar
2 T cocoa
2 tsp baking powder

1/2 C milk
2 T shortening, melted
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 C nuts (optional)

1 C powdered sugar (10X)
3 T cocoa

whipped cream or cool whip (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together dry ingredients.
Add milk and stir.
Add shortening and vanilla, mix well.

Pour into greased pan.

Sift powdered sugar and 3 T cocoa together.
Sprinkle on top of batter.
Pour 1 1/2 C cold water over all.

Bake 30-40 minutes @ 350º.

Serve with whipped cream if desired.
