Get fresh kielbasa. Put in covered heavy pan, and cover with water. Cook 30 minutes; leave cover loose during this time.

Prick each link--removes fat.
Brown links in frying pan.
Cut into bit size pieces.

Also, mushrooms sauteed in garlic butter go very well with the kielbasa pieces. Serve together on a platter for an appetizer or make small skewers.

Maureen Kuffel Turner makes a sauce for this kielbasa: in small saucepan put 1 small jar red currant jelly and 1/2 cup yellow mustard [sometimes I add a bit of Dijon to kick it up].
Cook until jelly is melted and mustard is all incorporated. Add more mustard if too sweet. Serve along side the kielbasa or mix together.
