1 ½ lb. round steak
1 T margarine
1 envelope brown gravy mix
2 C water
1 T instant onion soup mix
2 T brown sugar
1 ½ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
½ tsp ginger
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 bay leaf
½ cup red wine

Directions:
Directions:
Cube or cut steak into strips. Cook in heavy pan in margarine until brown. Add gravy mix and water, heat until boiling. Add remaining ingredients, and ¼ cup of the wine and simmer for 1 ½ hour. Remove bay leaf before serving; add ¼ cup wine right before serving. Serve over rice, broad noodles or mashed potatoes.
