Separate 1 dozen eggs. Put whites aside and beat yolks strenuously. While still beating, slowly add 12 tablespoons of granulated sugar and continue a tempo 'til sugar is dissolved. Slowly pour in 1 pint of cognac or brandy still stirring continuously. Follow with 1/2 pint of rum. Completed concoction should not be dominated with rum flavor. Take 1 pint of milk and 1/2 pint of heavy cream which have been whipped. Stir in milk and cream. Now take whites and beat until very stiff. Fold whites into creamed mixture. Stir in 1 grated nutmeg. Taste and adjust to flavor. If too sweet, add brandy.
