1 T. Butter
9-10 Medium Onions, Sliced
4-5 Slices of Bread - torn in pieces
1/2 lb. Cheese (whatever you like or a variety)

Custard:
1 Egg, beaten
1 c. Milk
1 tsp. Salt
1/4 tsp. Pepper
1 tsp. Celery Seed

Directions:
Directions:
Butter a 2 qt casserole and set aside. Par boil onions and drain. Add Butter and cool. Layer Bread, Onions & Cheese repeat layers and cover. (Can now be stored in the fridge until ready to bake).

Pour egg mixture over casserole, cover and bake at 375º for 40 minutes.
