½ cup butter
1/3 plus ¼ plus 1/3 cup sugar
¾ teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese
1 egg
4 cups apples, peeled, cored and sliced
½ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ cup sliced almonds
Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, 1/3 cup sugar, ¼ teaspoon vanilla. Blend in flour. Spread dough on bottom and 1 ½ ‘ up sides of 10” springform pan. Combine softened cream cheese and ¼ cup sugar. Add egg and ½ teaspoon vanilla. Beat well. Pour in pastry lined pan. Combine 1/3 cup sugar and cinnamon. Toss apples in sugar mixture. Lay apples over cream cheese layer. Sprinkle with almonds. Bake 450 for 10 minutes. Reduce to 400 and bake 25 minutes. Loosen tore from rim of pan.
