1 c. Brown Sugar
1 c. White Sugar
3 Eggs
3/4 c. Shortening
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 pinch Salt
4 c. Flour
1 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 c. Nuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the sugars, eggs and shortening together. Add the vanilla and salt. Mix in the dry ingredients. Add the nuts. Press and mold into 2 long smooth rolls. Wrap in waxed paper and refrigerate. When cold, cut into 1/4" slices and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400º for 6-8 minutes.

This recipe makes a lot of cookies. Bake only as many as you want at a time. Dough can be kept in refrigerator for several days. This is one of Del's favorite cookies.
