1 lb. dry pinto beans
water to keep covered
salt, to taste
bacon drippings (about 3 tbsp.)

Directions:
Directions:
look over pintos to remove bad beans & gravels
wash with water
put in pot and cover with water
bring to a boil
turn down & let cook on low for 3 to 4 hours until beans are soft.
add salt & bacon dripping about half way through cooking time
keep covered with water at all times
stir occasionally
