Peanut Butter Cake Recipe

3 7/8 c. flour
3 7/8 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. dry milk
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. water
1/3 c. shortening
1 c. peanut butter

Blend flour, sugar, dry milk, baking powder, and salt for 1 min. with mixer on low speed.
Combine eggs, vanilla and water. Add shortening and peanut butter and about half the liquid mixture to dry ingredients. Blend for 6 mins. on medium speed. Add remaining liquid mixture. Blend for 30 seconds on low speed. Beat for 2 mins. on medium speed. Pour batter into sheet pan, which has been lightly greased. Bake at 350 degrees until lightly browned. Frost with chocolate icing or peanut butter icing.
