1 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 qt. home-canned apples or 4 cups apples,
pared and chopped
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt;
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Fold in apples. Combine dry ingredients and add to apple mixture; mix well. Fold in nuts. Bake in greased 9x13 inch pan, at 350º for 45 min. or until cake tests done.
