Thumbprint Cookies Recipe

4 1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/4 tsp. vanilla
12 1/2 cups flour
2 tbsp water
3 12 c. icing

A. Orange flavored Icing
3 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/3 c. orange juice

B. Chocolate Icing
6 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
1/4 +2 tbsp. melted butter
1/2 c.+ 1 tbsp. warm water

C. Rich orange Icing
6 c. powdered sugar
1/4 c.+2 tbsp. melted butter
1/4 cup water
1/2 c. orange juice (not concentrate)

Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy.
Mix flour and water alternately into creamed mixture.
Using a #40 ice cream scoop, place cookie on cookie sheet.
With thumb make a deep depression in each cookie.
Bake 350 degrees for 15-20 mins.
Fill each depression with icing of your choice and let set.

A. Orange flavored Icing- Whip all ingredients together until smooth. Icing will be yellow in color.

B. Chocolate Icing - Sift powdered sugar & cocoa together
Place melted butter in bowl. Add dry ingredients and warm water alternately to butter. Stirring.

C. Rich Orange Icing - Whip all ingredients together until smooth.
