2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecans, chopped
1 c. dates, chopped
1/3 c. maraschino cherries, chopped
2 1/2 c. crushed cornflakes

Directions:

Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl; cream shortening and sugar. Blend in 2 eggs. Add: milk and vanilla. Blend in dry ingredients. Mix well. Add pecans, dates and cherries. Mix well. Shape into balls using a level tablespoon of dough for each cookie. Roll each ball of dough in corn flakes. Place on greased baking sheet. Top each cookie with 1/4 cherry. Bake 375º for 10-12 minutes. Do not stack or store until cool.
