1 lb butter
1 1/2 c. water
4 t. salt
4 c. flour
4 c sugar
1/2 c cocoa powder
1 t. baking soda
5 eggs
1 c. sour cream

Directions:
Directions:
Place the butter, water and salt in a medium saucepan, heating and stirring until melted. Set aside to cool.
In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, cocoa powder and baking soda. Pour melted better into dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Add eggs and mix, then add sour cream and mix.
Pour into a 10 inch round cake pan or 24 muffin cups and bake at 350, 1 hour for cake, 20 minutes for cupcakes.
