1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1tsp vanilla
1/2 cup sour cream
For Frosting:
8 oz sour cream
1 cup whipping cream
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tbsp maraschino cherry juice
Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350º. Grease a 9 x 2 inch round cake pan. Spray with cooking spray. Set aside.
2. In bowl combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Set aside.
3. In large bowl with electric mixer beat butter on medium to high for 30 seconds. Add sugar, beat until smooth and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla until smooth. Beat in sour cream and flour mixture. Pour batter in pan, spread evenly.
4. Bake 22 minutes. Cool in pan for 15 minutes. Remove from pan.
5. Spread with frosting, swirling in peaks. Refrigerate. To serve, top with Chocolate-Dipped Cherries.
For Frosting --
In large mixing bowl combine one 8 oz carton sour cream, 1 cup whipping cream, 2 cups powdered sugar, and 2 tbsp. maraschino cherry juice. Beat on medium high until fluffy.
