23/4 cups flour
101/2 Tbsp. butter
6 Tbsp. powdered sugar
2 egg yolks
Cheese mixture
21/2 cups bland cottage cheese
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
4 egg yolks
5 egg whites
12 Tbsp. orange peel
lemon peel
Vanilla

Icing: 1/2 cup water
11/2 cups sugar
2/3 tsp. cream of tartar
lemon juice to taste

Directions:
Prepare dough: Cut butter into flour, combine with sugar and knead with egg yolks. Roll out dough into two round sheets, place one in cake pan, bake.

Prepare cheese: Strain cheese through sieve. Cream butter, add one egg yolk at a time to butter, then add sugar, cream thoroughly. Add cheese to mixture, blend and mix for 10 minutes, add finely chopped orange and lemon peel, and vanilla at end. Beat egg whites, mix with cheese. Place cheese on baked dough, spread, even out, cover with second of raw dough, prick and place in well-heated oven. Bake one hour. After cooling, the cake may be iced, or sprinkled while hot, with vanilla sugar.
