2 c. boiling water
5 tsp. soda
1 c. shortening
2 c. white sugar
4 eggs
2 c. chopped dates or raisins
4 c. All Bran cereal
2 c. 40% bran flakes
1 c. chopped nuts
1 Qt. buttermilk
5 c. flour
1 tsp salt

Mix water and soda; cool. Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat until fluffy. Combine water mixture with creamed mixture and add rest of ingredients. Mix in large container. Bake in muffin tins in 375 oven for 20 minutes. Store in tight container in refrigerator. Spoon into muffin tins without stirring.
