1 tsp. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vinegar
2 1/2 c. cake flour, sifted
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. Crisco
1 tsp. vanilla
c. buttermilk
1 bottle red food coloring

Directions:
Directions:
Combine cocoa, baking soda and vinegar. Set aside.
Mix together sifted cake flour and sugar.
In a separate bowl combine eggs, Crisco, vanilla, buttermilk, and food coloring.
Stir cocoa mixture into sugar and flour. Mix well. Add to remaining ingredients. Grease and flour three cake pans. Add equal amounts of batter to each pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
ICING:
Combine 1 stick of butter, 1 8-ounce pkg. cream cheese, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 box powdered sugar, and 1/2 c. chopped nuts.
