3/4 c. butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. mashed banana's (3 medium bananas)
2 eggs (beaten)
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. buttermilk (or 1/2 cup milk soured w/ 1 tsp. of vinegar)
3/4 c. chopped pecans (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325º.

Cream butter and sugar. Blend in bananas, eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, baking soda, and salt together. Add to banana mixture, alternating with buttermilk and mixing thoroughly after each addition.

Add nuts and mix. Pour batter into greased and floured pan.

Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes or until done
