Sticky Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

5-6 c. flour
2 pkgs. yeast
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. margarine
1 1/2 c. hot water (120º-130º F)
2 eggs
butter, melted
cinnamon
sugar

Carmel Sauce:
6 tbsp. melted butter
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. corn syrup

Directions:

Combine 2 c. flour, yeast, salt, and sugar. Add margarine to hot water. Add to the flour mixture. Beat 2 minutes with mixer. Add eggs and 1 c. flour, beat another minute or until dough is thick and elastic. Stir in remaining flour gradually and knead. Use enough flour to make a soft dough which leaves the sides of the bowl. Turn onto floured board. Round in a ball and knead for 5 -10 min. Cover with elastic wrap and let rise 20 minutes. Seperate dough into two balls. Roll each ball of dough into 12 x 7 in. rectangle baking dish. Brush dough with melted butter. Make mixture of cinnamon and granulated sugar. Sprinkle over dough. Roll dough. Cut into 1 inch thick slices. Combine all ingredients for carmel sauce. Pour sauce into the bottom of a 9x13x2 in. baking dish. Place slices on top of carmel sauce. Brush with oil and cover loosely. Refrigerate 2 - 48 hours. Let rise 10 minutes, bake at 375º for 30 minutes.

Grandma would always make these for us when we would visit. I know they are time consuming, but the cookbook would not be complete without this recipe.

Instead of using the carmel sauce you can also use a cream cheese frosting.
