1/2 cup scalded milk
2 tablespoons butter, added to milk
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup sifted cake flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
grease an 8x8 inch square pan and set aside

Topping:
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup cream or whole milk
1 cup coconut or chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs thoroughly and gradually beat in sugar and vanilla. Beat very well. Sift together into creamed mixture, flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well. Add scalded milk and butter, and mix until well blended. This will make a thin batter. Pour into prepared pan and bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 mins.
For Topping:
In sauce pan soften 1/2 cup butter. Add brown sugar, coconuts or walnuts and cream. Use just enough cream to the mixture together. Spread on warm cake and put under broiler until golden brown and bubbly.บบบ
