2-1/4 cups green split peas
1-1/2 qts water
1 meaty ham bone
1-1/2 cups sliced onion
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon marjoram
1 cup celery chopped
1 cup sliced carrots

Directions:
Directions:
Cover peas with water; soak overnight. Drain peas, readd 2-1/2 qts water, ham bone, onions and seasonings. Bring to a boil and simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Remove ham one, cut off meat. Return meat to the soup, add the celery and carrots and cook slowly for 45 minutes. Salt to taste.
