1-1/2 pounds ground beef
1 TB. salt
2 c. chopped onion
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 c. diced green pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
2 1-lb. cans diced tomatoes
4 c. chopped rice
1-2 TB. chili powder (depending on the strength of your digestive tract)

Sauté beef, onions, green pepper and seasonings until meat is no longer pink and vegetables are tender, stirring frequently to crumble meat. Add tomatoes and rice, and spoon into buttered 2-quart casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

I often halve the recipe, but use 1 pound of ground beef instead of 3/4 pounds.
