Ingredients:  
1-1/2 qts water
#3 size solid pack tomatoes
1 large onion chopped
3 stalks celery
1 clove garlic minced
3 slices bacon, crisp and drippings
1 medium bay leaf
1/4 cup chopped parsley
1 tsp. rosemary
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 can minced clams ( 1 large or 2 regular size)
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 tsp. cumin seed
1/4 tsp. allspice

Directions:
Combine all the above ingredients, except the clams, and cook slowly for about 1 hr., add clams and thicken with 4 tablespoons flour and cook very slowly for about 1/2 an hour.
