1 medium onion chopped
2 cloves garlic chopped
1/4 cup olive oil
1 twenty-nine ounce can tomato sauce
1 small can tomato paste
1 pound ground beef browned and crumbled
2 cups water
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 bay leaves
Dash of basil
Salt and pepper to taste
8 ounce lasagna noodles cooked
2 small cartons cottage cheese
8 ounces mozzarella cheese
1 1/2 - 2 ounces grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onion and garlic in olive oil until golden brown. Add ground beef, and brown. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, cayenne, bay leaves, basil, salt and pepper. Stir together and simmer for 1 1/2 hours. Layer noodles, sauce, cottage cheese, and mozzarella cheese in a greased casserole dish. Continue layers and top with Parmesan cheese. Bake uncovered at 350º for 45 minutes.
