2 large packages of strawberry jello
2 cups boiling water
1 small can crushed pineapple (do not use fresh pineapple)
1 package (16 ounce) frozen strawberries
3 ripe bananas, sliced or mashed
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 pint sour cream

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve jello in boiling water. Add all ingredients except sour cream. Pour half of the jello mixture into a 9 x 13 casserole dish. Chill and set. Spread sour cream over the first layer. Pour the other half of the jello mixture over the sour cream layer. Chill and let set.

Strawberry Mess was affectionately named by my Grandfather, Herbert Dobbs. It is a traditional Christmas dish.
