4 c. unbleached flour
2 c. whole wheat flour
1/4 c. ground flax (optional but great for older dogs)
1 c. molasses (light or dark)
1 c. water
1/2 c. vegetable oil
4 T. ground ginger
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves

Directions:

Mix all the ingredients together. Using your hands works best. Roll out to 1/4 inch thick and cut out in shapes or use a biscuit cutter. Bake at 350º for 30-35 minutes until firm. Let set out a couple of hours to cool.

These keep well in a covered container for 2 - 3 weeks. The whole wheat and flax seed are good for your dog's joints and the spices help with doggie breathe. Store in the refrigerator in the summer to keep the oil from going rancid and your dog will enjoy something cold also.
