2 Cups flour
1/4 lb butter
1 tbs. baking powder
beaten egg(optional)
1/2 tsp tartar sauce
2 tsp sugar
2/3 cup milk
1 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 450. Mix all dry ingredients. Cut in butter until its like corn meal. Add milk and beaten egg all at once. Stir only till milk is absorbed. Put on floured board and pat or roll till 1/2 inch thick. Grease a baking pan. Cut out biscuits w/ small juice glass. Place on pan. Brush with egg yolk. Bake for ten minutes. Check for burning. Two more minutes if needed.
