Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 c. warm water
1/2 c. sugar
2 pkgs. dry yeast
6 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
1 stick butter, melted

Directions:
Directions:
Mix warm water, sugar and yeast. Set aside till foamy. Put flour and salt in a large bowl. When yeast mixture is foamy, add it, the beaten egg and melted butter to the flour. Mix till dough forms. Knead and put in a large greased bowl in warm place. Cover. Let it raise till double, about 1 hour. Punch down, let raise again about 1 hour. Punch down and shape into rolls or buns. Put on greased and floured baking sheet or use parchment paper (my favorite) on the baking sheet. Let raise again about 1 hour. Bake at 375º for 20 minutes. (Or 350º and 25 min. which I prefer.) Remove to cooling rack. While still warm, brush tops with butter.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This recipe takes a long time (because there's an extra punch down and raise) but the actual work time isn't that much - just set your timer and go do something else. I was informed by a baker that if you use rapid rise yeast the second punch and raise can be eliminated and the process will go much quicker. I make these to take to Mom's at Thanksgiving. (She makes her own at Christmas and Easter.)
