7 lbs okra
1 qt vinegar
2 qt water
1 cup salt

hot red pepper pods
garlic
powdered alum (makes okra crispy - get at grocery or drug store)
dill seeds

Directions:
Directions:
Pack okra tightly in jars.
In each jar put 2 pods hot red peppers, small garlic button, pinch of powdered alum and 1/2 tsp dill seeds.
Bring vinegar, water and salt to boil and pour over okra, seal with hot flat lids.
Let stand for 8 weeks before opening.
