4 ½ c flour
1 c granulated sugar
¾ tsp baking powder
¾ tsp soda
1 tsp salt
1 ½ c shortening
4 egg yolks
1/3 c milk

Apricot or cherry filling

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour with dry ingredients; cut in shortening. Add yolks and milk to moisten.

Divide dough into halves.

Roll one ball of dough between waxed paper to fit a 17 x 11” jelly-roll pan.

Carefully remove waxed paper and put dough in pan; fill with apricot.

Roll out remaining dough; cut into strips. Lay in criss-cross pattern over the top of filling. Seal edges

Bake 350º for 45 minutes or till golden brown on top
