For Topping:
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 can sliced pineapple
marachino cherries
pecan halves

For Batter:
1/3 c. shortening
2/3 c. sugar
1 egg,
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. self-rising flour
1/2 c. orange juice

Directions:
Directions:
For Topping: Melt butter, add brown sugar and stir until bubbly. Pour into a skillet. Arrange pineapple slices in bottom of skillet. Put cherries in center holes and pecans in between pineapple slices.

For Batter: Cream shortening and sugar, add egg and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Blend in flour and orange juice, beating until smooth. Pour batter over pineapple.

Bake in preheated 350º oven for 40 minutes. Let stand five minutes. Turn upside down over serving dish.
