1 c. sugar
1 c. vegetable shortening
1 c. dark molasses
2 eggs
4 cups sifted flour
1 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
2 t. cinnamon
1 t. ginger

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the sugar & shortening, add molasses & eggs, then add the dry ingredients. Have at hand a small bowl of sugar. Dipping your fingers in the sugar, pinch off a ball of dough (about the size of a walnut) & roll ball of dough in the sugar. Arrange on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for 12 - 15 min. Makes 4 doz. large, soft cookies.
Dough keeps well in the refrigerator
