1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla
2-1/2 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup chopped nuts
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate pieces

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375º
Let butter and margarine stand at room temperature until softened. In mixing bowl cream the butters, brown sugar and white sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt and add to the creamed mixture until it is well blended. Stir in chocolate pieces and nuts. Drop from a teaspoon on a well greased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake at 375º for 8 to 10 minutes or until done. Remove from cookie sheet to a cooling rack. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
