Ingredients:  
1 cup water or milk
3 Tablespoon sugar
2 ½ teaspoon salt
6 Tablespoon oleo or lard or butter
Heat water to hot, pour over oleo, sugar, salt. Cool to lukewarm.

1 cup warm (not hot) water
1 package yeast
Dissolve yeast in water then add to cooled oleo mixture.
Mix and Add
3 cups flour
Add additional 2 to 3 cups flour. Knead.

Turn into greased bowl (cover with T-towel) to rise, allow 2 hours.
Make into 2 loaves or rolls. Place rolls on cookies sheets covering with a t-towel and allow to rise 1 hour.
Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

My Granny Mollie always had homemade bread, just like my mom Rosie Henderson. I have never known my mother to buy bread. Mom's bread now is whole wheat. But this is the recipe my family prefers.
