2 sticks butter, do not use margarine
1 c. sugar
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Line a 9x13 inch pan with parchment paper. Sprinkle the bottom of the pan with 1/2 c. of the pecans. Cook butter and sugar in a heavy saucepan over medium heat. Stir with a wooden spoon and cook until it reaches 300º on a candy thermometer. Pour over the pecans. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the top; when they are partially melted, spread with a knife. Sprinkle remaining pecans onto top and press into candy. Cool at least 1 hour in refrigerator then break into pieces.
