"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain

Directions:
Combine water and raisins in a medium sauce pan. Simmer for 10 mins. Stir in the margarine and set aside to cool. In a large bowl, mix together sugar, baking soda, flour, spices and salt. Stir in the nuts. Add the cooled raisin mixture and blend well. Stir in eggs. Pour batter into greased and floured 9X13 inch pan. Bake in preheated 350º oven for 35 minutes. Cool completely, then frost with: 8 oz. soft cr. cheese, 1 tsp. vanilla, 3 c. confectioners sugar, 1/8 tsp. salt, 2-4 TB. milk.
