2 c sugar
1 c shortening
1 c sweet or sour milk
2 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 c raisins
1 c nuts
5 c flour
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt

Cream sugar and shortening until light. Add eggs and mix well. Mix dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk until well mixed. Stir in vanilla. Add fruit and nuts. Drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Bake.
